Charvel serial dating
I stumbled across a charvel today at a music shop on vacation. "About 750 San Dimas Charvels were built without serial numbers from '79 until 11/9/81.
The neck plate is the only place I could find a number. Ive searched for a couple hours but my knowledge of charvels is extremely limited and I don't want to make a bad buy. For the San Dimas Charvels, #1001 began the numbered series in late 81'.
Received the 1b yesterday, thought I'd post the pics for you guys.
It's in even better shape than I imagined it to be in, not a scratch on her other than the fine polishing scratchs you get when you been around this long.
now when Red Racer chimes in, just so you know Red Racer, this white one is still available, if you pass on the red one....Action super low, neck smooth as butter, no real fret wear to speak of. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase, it's a welcome addition to my Jackson/Charvel family... Aldrich honed this shredmonster during his endorsement of Jackson Guitars.Knowing how the first Japanese Jackson import guitars came around is quite interesting, so here's the background story on the original Jackson Professional Series from Japan, introduced in 1990 and terminated in 1995.Charvel Model Series imports from 1986 paved the way for these Jackson imports, inseparable in history, so expect to find a bit of Charvel history here as well.
